Tot Zover Museum - Amsterdam
Babs Bakels is conservator of the National Museum of
Death and Funeral ‘Tot Zover’ (lit. ‘Uptil Here’), which openend its doors in
December 2007 on the site of one of the most ancient burial and cremation sites
of Amsterdam.
De Ode - Amsterdam
Walter Carpaij and his partner have founded 'De Ode' , an
alternative funeral company. This family business is situated on an island in
the middle of the lake 'het IJ' in the North of Amsterdam.
Bergerbos
Huub Kluijtmans – an ancient forestry worker – has
started a woodland burial site at Bergerbos, near Maastricht, on a piece of
land which he had bought initially for wood exploitation.
Crematorium of Haarlem
Peter van Wees works at the crematorium of Haarlem, which
opened its doors in 2001. The architecture of the building, made of glass, wood
and stone is amazing.
